The simplified procedure for connecting generating installations, introduced by the amendments of May 8, 2024, to NEURC Resolution No. 352 of March 26, 2022 (hereinafter – the Resolution), provides for rapid connection of generating installations of a business entity that intends to install and connect them by January 1, 2026, provided there is a certificate from the military administration on the need for urgent connection of such installations. For this purpose, existing energy infrastructure, including sites of existing users, as well as standard technical solutions, should be used in priority order.
At the same time, for a business entity intending to connect electrical installations designed for the production of electricity from solar and/or wind energy, a mandatory condition for connection according to Clause 7 of the Resolution is the installation of energy storage systems with a capacity equal to or exceeding the installed capacity of such generating installation and a storage capacity that ensures at least 4 hours of power output at the level of such generating installation.
Please note that the specified simplified procedure does not limit the possibility of connecting to the electrical networks of distribution systems in accordance with the Distribution System Code or the Temporary Connection Procedure.
Thus, a business entity intending to connect generating installations to the electrical networks of distribution systems has the right to choose connection according to the Distribution System Code/Temporary Connection Procedure or according to Clause 7 of NEURC Resolution No. 352 of March 26, 2022.
