Timely notification of an electrical safety hazard allows for a prompt response and quick localization of events that pose a threat to the electrical safety of people and animals, and could lead to equipment failures or industrial accidents.

In case of detecting events that pose an electrical safety hazard: broken or sagging power lines, open doors or hatches of electrical installations, or damaged poles, it is necessary to maintain a safe distance from the scene, warn others of the danger, prevent passers-by or animals from approaching the scene, and report the incident to the Call Center of the Distribution (Transmission) System Operator in whose territory the electrical installation is located.

In case of fire in electrical appliances or installations, they should be immediately disconnected from the power grid; if necessary, call the fire service by dialing "101".

If you detect work on dismantling power lines by persons who are not employees of the Distribution System Operator (do not have special clothing), or facts of theft or damage to electrical equipment, vandalism, or other illegal actions, you must immediately contact the National Police by dialing "102".

Remember that the most important electrical safety requirement in a private household is the proper condition of the insulation of domestic power grids and electrical appliances.

In order to maintain electrical safety, it is strictly forbidden:

- to approach broken wires closer than 8 meters (electrical injury can be sustained even several meters away from the wire);

- to open the doors of electrical installation enclosures or penetrate behind fences and barriers;

- to enter the territory and premises of electrical facilities;

- to attempt to enter transformer substations for any purpose;

- to perform unauthorized switching of electrical devices or connection to electrical networks;

- to climb power line poles, ascend to the roofs of structures, or climb trees near overhead lines; to attempt to remove an electrical wire;

- to touch wires that are sagging or lying on the ground;

- to allow children to climb trees growing under power lines;

- to build any structures, stack firewood, straw, etc., or light fires under power lines and overhead building entrances;

- to throw wire or any other objects onto overhead power line wires;

- to install metal supports for television antennas near power lines;

- to attempt to reach any objects stuck between wires;

- to place playgrounds or play games under overhead lines, fly kites near overhead lines, or play near electrical installations.

Timely notification of an electrical safety hazard allows for a prompt response and quick localization of events that pose a threat to the electrical safety of people and animals, and could lead to equipment failures or industrial accidents.
